It’s time, at long last, for the Spring Clean-up of our favorite park.
The date is Saturday, June 10, with a rain date of Sunday, June 11. We’ll meet up around 9am in the Orchard.
Volunteers will spread wood chips in the Orchard and on the trail to the Orchard. We’ll pull the pesky garlic mustard and cut burning bush. We’ll hit the trails, prune back branches that whack you in the face and pick up trash. There will be tasks for all ages and levels of ability.
If you have garden tools bring your rakes, shovels, shears, wheelbarrows and garden carts. We’ll have gloves, trash bags and trash pickers from the city.
If you don’t have tools just bring yourselves. Bring the kids too! They love these clean-up mornings.
Please let us know if you can join us so we can plan the food. Include your phone number in case weather makes us move it to Sunday.
We’re looking for a handy person who can add new cork to the kiosks. We’ll provide the cork if you’ll bring your handy tools.
We’ll gather for a picnic lunch about noon where FCP will provide food, beer, water and soda but do feel free to bring something for potluck. (Remember that glass is not allowed.)
Mark the date and please RSVP to ursulamearth@gmail.com. It’ll be a great chance to get acquainted with all those faces you pass in the park.
See you there!
